HELLO, BAY AREA CROSSWORD FANS!
And welcome to "MY SECRET VACATION" PAGE!
I'm giving away 12 of my Sunday
crossword books this month absolutely free -- and you get
to pick which books. All you have to do is play by the
rules!
The Rules, Part 1
You must
correctly answer the two questions posed in the "My
Secret Vacation" puzzle in the August 1, 2010, issue of
the San Francisco Chronicle's Sunday Magazine. The
questions are:
1. What are the names of the
four cities that form a perfect rectangle somewhere in
the puzzle grid? (You can list them in any order.) 2.
What airline did I take to visit them?
The Rules, Part 2
To be eligible you must live
within a 60-mile radius of the heart of San Francisco.
You must supply your first and last name, and the city
or town in which you live. All entries must be received
no later than 12 noon Pacific Time, Wednesday,
August 4, 2010. From all of the correct entries
received I will pick 12 names at random by 12 noon
Pacific Time, Thursday, August 5, 2010,
and barring any bizarro Internet glitches I will notify
all 12 winners by 1 p.m. that same day. Entrants must be
at least 18 years of age. Employees of the Chronicle and
their immediate families are not eligible. Only one
entry allowed per household. Decision of the judges is
final. To notify you as a winner I will simply hit
"Reply" on your submitted email, so please be sure you
have no mail-blocking software on your computer. (If you
do have such software, please include your phone number
in your submission.)
That's about it. No salesmen
will call! If you agree to the rules, simply submit your
answers to my regular gmail account: merlmail7@gmail.com.
No obligations, no tricks, and no
distractions (well, except for my sudoku and book
buttons below). Happy solving, and good luck!
P.S. Don't be
surprised if there's a surprise prize.
